The Christian Youth Film Festival began as a fun and lighthearted way to encourage teenagers to express their faith. Youth Pastor Joe Brown noticed that there was a thriving underground of Christian teen filmmakers that needed a chance to hone and share their creations.

Pastor Joe, along with a few other crazy youth ministers, created an event where these short films could be seen and celebrated. It has grown into a fun-filled, star-studded, credible festival and competition with real cash prizes for the winners! Teens are encouraged and equipped to make short films about almost anything, as long as they are consistent with a Christian Worldview. Generous contributions from citizens and businesses help fund the festival and the associated workshops.

Kern Youth Network is part of the National Network of Youth Ministries. We are a non-profit group of youth ministries hoping to encourage and equip teenagers in creating movies that speak to the youth culture about Jesus and His followers. We facilitate the Christian Youth Film Workshops to equip teenagers with new and exciting skills essential to producing the highest quality projects.

We are always looking for creative teens, generous sponsors, and dedicated volunteers.
Send us a note, we just might answer.
